In the last three (3) years or so, my personal and professional life have suffered irreparably. Mistakes and bad business decisions were made on my part, and they brought about what came down; I take full responsibility for initial failings.
That said, however ... I also take full exception to the hysteria, fear, rushes to judgment and mental convictions -- guilt before innocence -- to which I, as well as my loved ones, friends and business colleagues / associates, have been subjected over the past three years. I apologize for my mistakes and bad choices - especially inasmuch as these loved ones, friends and business colleagues / associates have suffered, and been subjected themselves to hysteria, fear and rushes to judgment ... their being harassed and negatively impacted, in turn impacting me, so I'm penalized twice for mistakes and bad choices ... but ultimately, for allegations which simply do not apply. Serious allegations, like "Misrepresentation" ... "Scam" ... "Theft" ... "Ponzi scheme" (?) ... "Bank fraud" (?!?) ...
Hold on, WHAT???
Now these are not new. There is nothing "new" here that I'm reporting. All of the above that I've heard at one time or another, and some of which we both (you and I, Dear Reader) have seen online over the past three long years -- which has scared away customers, destroying not only personal relationships and the name, Jeff Glovsky, but also my professional network and reputation -- it's all old news. It was initiated Memorial Day weekend, 2010.
How and why, do you ask? No, you don't. You don't give a shit. Why should you? Would you? As Woody Allen suggests, you're simply not interested - You've all got your own lives, and your own problems, and your own shadows on your lungs ...
It's my own problem (I own it) - My loss of business, income, credibility at the hands of one malicious prick with a website and a mission: to invite the world's hysterical, scared, wrongly judgmental and prematurely opinionated to weigh in and destroy lives and livelihoods with the single click of an Enter key -- and who promises this aggrieved congregation, this community of "victims", lifelong immunity from ever having their tantrums, frustrations, attacks, rantings, ventings, and all too often, unfounded, unproven allegations and name-calling (occasionally, there'll be the odd valid complaint) from being removed or taken down from his website ...
In real life, of course, if a court case is dismissed or due process completed, an accusation or filing may be sealed, and/or a court record expunged. Not so in the proud, garrulous world of the Ripoff Report. There, in this horrible, purgatorial online place, the rightly or wrongly accused stand guilty, on trial -- and on display -- FOREVER ... and this is the injustice to which I wholly object.
To the persons who first subjected me to this, on a holiday weekend back in 2010 -- willfully, without a thought or care, posting my name (along with a terrible photo) to craigslist and sparking, quite literally, hysteria so that no mistake or bad decision could be further attempted to be reversed (though certainly not through lack of attempt) ... and others who felt it necessary then to pile on and follow suit -- or rather, didn't feel anything at all, except a furious and perverted need to achieve 17th century "justice" through public flogging, leading to an intractable online presence and years of wholly negative, embarrassing and damaging SERPs -- I can only say thank you, and fuck you, at this point.
Again (still, always), you know who you are.
Feel it: Fuck You. I wish you the same life sentence of bad SEO. Your reckless abuse of my NAME, and your libelous theft of my REPUTATION, have cost me dearly, and I've yet to be compensated.
To others, especially you total strangers, who have ignorantly, lazily and lopsidedly chosen to believe what you find online as a result of the above -- insulting or rejecting out of hand my business(es), projects, ideas and/or being, while inappropriately and detrimentally attempting to forge my previous failings and past situation onto whatever your feel your present inconveniences and/or circumstances to be: you need to be ashamed of yourselves, and check yourselves. Seriously.
E.g., if we spend valuable time discussing doing business together, then you change your mind by sending me a terse email with the subject line "Concerning", full of links to negative posts about me (some of which have now been taken down; others will never be taken down) ... Do you really think I'm unaware and need your "discoveries" pointed out to me? I am painfully aware, but thanks for your "concern".
E.g., If you do decide to work with or for me, then after we spend valuable time working together, you "discover" what's been out there damaging my name and reputation since 2010 and you disappear; or (worse) become an asshole toward me and my business(es) because you suddenly feel it's deserved, even though you have only been treated with respect and professionalism by me and my business(es) ... In other words, we like you and hire you, and you like me and my business(es) and what they have to offer you enough to accept, but you suddenly disappear or become an asshole ... Go to hell.
E.g., If your math sucks, so that you constantly put two and two together to get five ... i.e., reading what you find online, not only accepting it at face value but also wrongfully extending and applying it to your present personal or professional relationship with me ... and then further extending your (unfounded) suspicions, resentments, fears, furies and righteousness to include my family ... you will wind up on the ass end of a criminal complaint. You, especially, know who you are.
And to everyone else who's still there, and still cares, to connect, to "friend", to network or do business -- and to those of you who already have and continue to do so, despite the bad press of the past three (3) years -- you know how, and are welcome to, contact Jeff Glovsky.
